Kolinuuro Trail - A Journey Across Ancient Tectonic Plates
The Koli National Park in North Karelia is one of Finland's most stunning natural destinations. Welcome to experience the green wilderness of Koli on a guided hiking tour with a wilderness guide.
A guided hiking tour in the Koli National Park is an unforgettable experience. During the hike, you will experience the enchantment of Koli, the vast and magnificent landscape from the peaks of the rugged hills. Here, you can find peace for your mind and soul, hidden among the ancient forests and with views over Pielinen.
We start our tour from the nature center, Ukko, and hike through Kolinuuro to Pieni-Koli, where we admire the view of Pielinen and the majestic peaks of Koli.
The Kolinuuro separates these two ancient continental plates!
The next destination is Paha-Koli, whose majesty we just admired from below. From here, we continue to the summit of Ukko-Koli, where we enjoy the stunning view of the Koli National Park. The wilderness guide tells us more about the history of Koli and its significance to Finland's cultural heritage. Koli has inspired many artists, and when you visit Koli's peaks, you will feel why these landscapes have been immortalized in so many paintings and poems.
The tour ends back at the starting point in the yard of the Nature Centre Ukko.
