Welcome to a nature-inspired skiing adventure in the stunning landscapes of Koli!
The trip starts at the historic Mattila Farm and takes the group, led by a guide, through Vaaralanaho's spacious birch forests and Koli's oldest spruce forests. Along the way, we’ll practice cross-country skiing techniques on gentle uphill and downhill slopes. The total route is approximately 2.5 kilometers.
Enjoy the relaxed skiing experience in powdery snow-covered scenery. This two-hour trip is suitable for both beginners and more experienced skiers – the pace is kept calm so everyone can enjoy the adventure at their own speed.
If you wish, you can learn the Telemark turn or the ancient Longbow descent technique with guidance from the instructor.
At the end of the trip, there's an opportunity to unwind in the sauna at Mattila Farm, letting your body recover after a day of skiing. Come and experience the magic of winter in Koli!

Price includes: Guide services, skinbased skis, poles, and a snack package (warm drink, sandwich, snack biscuit), safety plan, and liability insurance for the event.
Equipment provided by the organizer:
Skinbased Skis (OAC KAR 147), poles, and a sitting pad for breaks.
Participants’ own equipment:
Winter boots with flexible soles, weather-appropriate clothing, camera, sunglasses, backpack, water bottle, and small snacks.
Available for rental:
Winter boots, beanie, gloves, and lightweight winter overalls.
Notes:
The trip is suitable for participants aged 11 and older.

Mattila's traditional wood-heated sauna.
