A guided walk from Koli Village to Finland’s most famous national landscape or the other way around.

Participants are picked up at the reception of Kylä Hotel or we meet at the Koli Nature Centre Ukko.

The stories of spirits that once inhabited the hills kept permanent settlements away from the slopes of Koli, known as Mustarintaseksi, for a long time. The route takes you from the heart of Koli's cultural village along paths once traveled by settlers and travelers centuries ago. The route passes through Mattila, then through Ollila and Turula, climbing up the slopes of Ipatti. Along the way, you'll learn about the history of Koli's settlement, explore old farmyards, and hear stories about Koli National Park, its nature, and its history. After the famous Sacrificial Crevice, you'll reach Yläpiha's diverse services, Koli Nature Centre Ukko with its exhibitions, and the breathtaking views of the national landscape.

At the Koli Nature Centre Ukko, you can explore its exhibitions and get tips on other attractions in the national park, as well as advice on return routes back to the village. After the guided walk, you can continue your day independently, for example, with the Peaks Trail through Akka-Koli and Paha-Koli to the top of Ukko-Koli, or by taking the Mäkrä or Kolinuuro trails. For your return trip, you might take the Harbor Path, which offers an even more comprehensive experience of Koli National Park.
